Trick or Treat…in an
interesting way!
You’ll see very special pictures of Hugo and cousin Zach
that I love!
I also have a very special story that happened as I was
coming home from the “baby Kroger” in Decatur (very appropriately named. As I
was told when I asked someone directions on the street, “All the stores are
smaller here in the city!”) . As I approached our garage, there were about 8
little kids dressed to go Trick or Treating. The smallest one…maybe 2 years
old… approached me with her hands out, and went straight for my package of…
toilet tissue, which of course I gave her for Halloween. Her mom was very
pleased with her, but I was immediately concerned about the workers and family
who were renovating our new townhome. So, I took an apple out of my grocery
sack and offered it to the little girl in exchange for the toilet tissue. She
readily agreed to a yummy apple and walked away happy after she dropped the
toilet tissue on the pavement. Needless to say, the adults all around howled
with laughter!
Renovations
As you see, we’re making great progress on the renovations
on our house. The deck has been replaced. The front porch has been shored up
and painted. Hardwood flooring was installed, stained and sealed for the 1st
time (2 more days to complete that!). Lots of other painting is being done today.
Tile will be put down next week. We have had to delay our move until Saturday,
Nov. 9th, but it sure will be nice to have almost all finished.
Stairwell carpets will be installed after the move.
Restaurant Fun at
Kimball House and Zeal!
We have decided that the new restaurants in the area are open
in our honor. We thoroughly enjoyed the East Cobb restaurant of Zeal with Karen
and Hans, only to find out that one of the owners went to high school with
their son Josh! That was a treat to meet him. Great suggestion, Karen and Hans!
Another evening, we met the Parisis at Kimball House in
Decatur, and our server Tyler added to make the evening wonderful – delicious
food and super company! I’m so glad we could christen that new place together,
Linda and Paul!
