Day 7 Sicily Ortigia Fratelli Burgio Tapas
Our last day in Sicily, and there were sad goodbyes to
Gina’s uncles and their wives as they left to see Mt. Etna. They will leave for
the US tomorrow morning. It has been so much fun to spend this time with them
on the Sicilian shores of the Mediterranean Sea!
As it turned out, we needed to go to Siricusa to get Peter’s
dry cleaning; and Gina, Will, Kim and Cheryl needed to go close to there in
Ortigia to purchase some farmers’ market treats to take to Gina’s grandmother
before leaving for the US this evening. So,before the rest of us departed from
Sicily, we met up at the Fratelli Burgio
stand at the farmers’ market in Ortigia for a delightful lunch of tapas dishes
of cheese, meets, fruits and bread sticks. It was just wonderful! The perfect
ending to a perfect vacation! Thanks for treating us to lunch, Gina and Will,
and thanks to all for including us in your vacation!
Thought you’d like to see some other random pics that didn’t
get in yet!
Love, Colleen
