Maggie! Do you want to eat?
We may be homeless, but this is the highest homeless living
I’ve ever heard of. We’re living in the Masseys house while they are on
vacation in Mexico. Everybody we know refers to their house as the “Resort,”
and for good reason. It’s a great house, with lots of amenities; and the
neighborhood has wonderful, strenuous hills for walking and getting the best
exercise. Plus, their house is for sale, so Peter has his ears all perked up to
help them stage it for selling. They have a new real estate agent as of
tomorrow, and we are doing what we can to get it ready to sell before we leave
here in 3 days…stranger things have happened, you know!
In the meantime, this wonderfully cute doggie has appeared
on the scene and stolen our hearts. Sara Alison’s boyfriend Jon’s dog Maggie is
a sweetheart. You’ll see by the pictures that when it’s her suppertime, she
goes to great lengths to make the food appear in her bowl. I laughed out loud
when she came to me, and with a little bark at me, she ran to her bowl, put
each front paw on either side of her bowl, went down on her elbows with her
hips up in the air and talked to her bowl as if it would understand her. It was
sooooo funny.
We have enjoyed getting to know Maggie, and now we are
enjoying getting to know her owner Jon, too. He joined Sara Alison and us for
supper Wednesday then came back for leftovers on Thursday for lunch. He’s
delightful as well. They make a great couple. We hope he will join us for
supper on Monday, too.
Thanks for sharing your home with us, Masseys. Thelma went
to her new home in Delaware while you were gone. The house was shown once, with
no other news, and we’re on GO to close on our Decatur townhouse on Oct. 25th.
Being homeless is good when you’re us.
Colleen
