I’m beginning to like these Thursday outings that Peter
finds. Today, we signed up at Vino Venue to attend a wine tasting training
there tonight. It started at 7pm, and it was about a 40 mile trip. We had to
leave our house at 5:30 to get there just on time. Traffic from our house to
there is awful at that time of day. We got as far as Hwy 400 easily, but it
took another hour to go the last 10 miles! Wow, do we ever miss the simplicity
of getting around in Bra, Italy!

VINO VENUE
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Martha!
What a joy to meet Martha and Chet at Vino Venue this
evening. This little plan has been developing for a while. Peter learned about
the talented wine connoisseur Michael a few years ago at a wine event in
Atlanta. Then, recently our daughter Jill told Peter that she had met a great
couple, and the man had a wine school and wine shop called Vino Venue. She
wanted to introduce the two of them. Of
course, she was speaking about Michael. Amazingly enough, our son Nick’s
girlfriend’s mom Martha learned of Peter’s strong interest in wine and is a
close friend of Michael’s. She was the one that finally put the group in motion
by contacting us to arrange the meeting that happened today. How’s that for
“meant to be?”
The timing was perfect for us, because Peter has just
finished his course in Italy that included a lot of wine information. Also, we
had attended the wine tasting training at Michael’s Vino Venue just last week,
so we knew a little about the place. In addition, the tours we plan to conduct
will include vineyards in Italy. What a happy marriage!
Martha, Chet, Peter and I thoroughly enjoyed taking
advantage of the small plates of wonderful goodies while we were there. The
wine was readily available from their new self-help machines…just swipe your
prepaid card and the wine pours into your glass…very simple to have a variety
of tastings.
When Michael joined us, it was as if a close friend had come
to the table. We immediately knew that this was a person we would enjoy being
around and collaborating with about anything, but especially those things
related to wine. By the time we left, Michael and Peter had concocted an idea
for Peter to teach a class at Vino Venue about culture in Italy. They also made
plans to get together again soon to talk about any other ways that they could
help each other in future ventures. We will enjoy those future collaborations,
Michael. Thank you so much for spending time with us on Tuesday. It seemed like
the beginning of something great!
And thank you, Martha, for orchestrating that special
evening.
A presto!
Colleen
