The weekend was very nice, with a surprise lunch visit with
our Daniel from Singapore and with Peter on Friday . They had been shopping for
boots for Scotland and found a great deal at Atlante! Great athletics store!
Peter got that warm hat there, too.
Peter and I enjoyed a walk with Cristina and Kendall in the
afternoon. We usually have walks of about and hour and a half. They are great
friends, so we enjoy our walks with them.
Saturday, the pop-up meals were all we did all day
long…brunch, then burgers, then Mexican, then pizza! Needless to say, we were
full by the end of the day. It was fun. We were happy to support the students,
and we met some really nice people who are new to the University.
It was great to have our pasta shop friends, the Grimaldi’s
to join us on Sunday to celebrate their son Giovanni’s 15th
birthday! Mara and Valerio were pleased that we included some of their pasta,
as well as roasted fish and veggies. Their younger son Alberto (9 yrs old) was
super pleased that we had some pizza just for him (and an Italian book to
read). Giovanni was surprised with the Torta Sacher (his favorite wonderful
chocolate cake) that his mother made for him, and he strutted around showing
off how handsome he was in his new scarf from us. We had such a nice time with
them. Thanks, Grimaldi’s, for joining us for Giovanni’s celebration!
