Fifty people enjoyed the Lexicon of Sustainability images,
the panel discussion about sustainability, the terrific local snacks and the
delicious Laloo’s goat’s milk ice cream at the Cobb County Centennial Sierra
Club meeting in Marietta, GA, last Thursday.
It was inspiring to watch people listen to the panel
discussion among university leaders in the area. The audience also joined in a
lively discussion, with questions and comments about the topic of
sustainability. I knew it was time for me to stand up and talk about Slow Food
Atlanta and the Lexicon of Sustainability images when one of the people in the
audience asked, “How are we supposed to talk about sustainability intelligently
when we aren’t all using the same definitions for the various aspects of
sustainability?”
It was a perfect venue for the Lexicon images to be
displayed. Thank you, Sierra Club, for welcoming us into your meeting about
sustainability! We felt right at home.
