BUH!

Italy Journal
Thursday, July 19, 2012

I had a lovely time today conversing with Elettra (Lisa’s niece) about her future. She’s just finished high school, and her mother asked me to talk to her about that. I was glad she did, and I was glad that Elettra was eager to participate. Of course, gelato was included in the afternoon.

Our Italian class with Sara was entertaining again today. Sara told Peter straight on that if he were going to improve, he would have to learn the verbs! Of course, his reply was, “Which ones are the verbs again?” The man never learned about grammar in school! He’s cute, though, and he learns really well by listening to what people are saying. Anyway, we practiced those verbs for a while, and I had made him some cheat sheets that helped some. To congratulate him on a job well done, Sara taught him the Italian sign for “I dunno! Why are you asking me?” You puff out your chest, throw your arms in the air, make a very questioning expression on your face and blurt out, “Buh!” Here’s a picture of Peter practicing with Sara. It was a productive class, and Sara has given us permission to bring Peter’s sister Lori’s family to class next week if they are interested.  We’re working on numbers next week!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!, Aucoins!
