A Beautiful Day with
Anja and Konny
I was surprised, when I went to the door to pick up Anja to
go to the street market, that Konny came with her. He didn’t have class this
morning, so we were very pleased that he decided to hang out with us.
Anja found a new purse to replace the old one that was about
to break at the strap! She was looking for a huge, carry everything purse, and
she found just the right one for her. When we had looked all over the rest of
the street market…it covers 2 large parking lots and 2 large and long
streets…we dropped by the Slow Food office to look around the shop. By then we
were ready for Konny’s wild coffee and a rest. Surprisingly, I could drink this
wild coffee with no schizophrenic reactions! He said that would be true, but I
was amazed! And, the coffee was very good. Konny loves to grow his food and
forage for food, as well as to cook. We love for him to do those things too, so
I gave him the terra cotta planters that we need to discard. They are
definitely not within our 50- pound luggage limit!!! He really appreciated the
gift, and I’m sure he will put them to good use!
In the afternoon, Konny did have to go to class, so I took
Anja up the hill to the overlook at Zizzola. It was a cloudy day, so the view
was not the best, but we could see all through the valley…just not much of the
Alps. From there, we went on to deliver laundry at the Big Store. Anja shopped
while I took care of that and got some bananas. By the time I returned, she had
bought a lovely dress for 90% off (Wow!). She was very pleased with her 10euro
purchase, which startedgot a conversation about Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace
University that Peter and I taught at our church. She was fascinated and wanted
to look online for more information. I hope you’ll like what you read, Anja!
On the walk back home, I finally got an opportunity to
introduce Anja to Affagato! As you can see, she ordered 2, since she thought
they were so good! (Really, Colleen?) Well, I did eat MOST of “her” second
one!!! They are irresistible, and now Anja is an Affagato snob, too!!! Maybe we should start an Affagato Club!!!
She’s going back to Germany tomorrow. I hope you can come
back next weekend, Anja. I have really enjoyed our excursions this week.
Baci,
Colleen
