Barolo and La Morra
with Kyle and Victoria
The snow had turned to slush in Bra this morning, so it was
easy to walk or drive around. As we took off for a tour at the Borgogno
Vineyard in Barolo, though, the snow became much deeper. We enjoyed our time
there with Kyle and Victoria, and the tour with Monica was very informative and
interesting. She provided a couple of delicious tastings, too, which we always
appreciate. It was especially fun to ride the elevator up to the rooftop, where
the view of the valley all around was magnificent! It was cold up there,
though, so we didn’t stay there long.
For lunch, we wandered on over to nearby La Morra and ate a
delicious meal at More e Macine Restaurant. We found the herb planters on the
front terrace covered by 15 inches of snow, and snowplows had been used there
all morning. It could easily be a mess of frozen danger if the temperatures go
below freezing over night, which is the prediction.
For today, though, we enjoyed the beautiful view of Monviso on
the drive back home, satisfied from a lovely time at Borgogno and a wonderful
meal together at More e Macine.
Aperitivo at
Francesco and Jacqueline’s
Francesco and Jac invited all of us over for aperitivo this
evening. Most of the FC8 (Peter’s cohort) students who are still in Bra came,
and it was a great time to introduce Kyle and Victoria to Peter’s classmates.
They started telling stories about the year and how sad they are about it
ending in only 6 weeks. Most of the stories were very funny, and you could tell
that they had all become very close! Thanks for a lovely time together, Jac and
Francesco!
