Peter and Jim got up early to take sunrise pictures. They
were lovely…who could miss with the Italian Alps as your backdrop?
Later in the day, we took off for the Santuario de Crea, a
lovely spot where many (maybe 18?) buildings have been built to memorialize the
life of Christ. Each building has a theme of one moment in Christ’s life. When
you put them all together, they tell His amazing, old, old story. We all had an
incredibly moving time at this Santuario.
When we left there, we ended up in Cherasco at the wine shop
next to the oldest chocolate shop around. The wine shop owner had agreed to
house some of the most popular chocolate items while the chocolate owners took
a vacation, so we found what we wanted in wine and chocolate at the same store.
Can’t beat that!
What a lovely New Year’s Day with the Nixons!
