A Last Walk with
Kendall!
Today was a special day. We went with Kendall and Cristina
on one of our lovely, long walks. The weather was cool and totally clear, and
we rambled around the hills surrounding Bra. We had such fun.
We didn’t know it when we started the walk, but today is
Kendall’s last day here. Her parents have asked her to come home to Vancouver
because her grandfather has had strokes, so her roommates are going to drive
her to the airport in Torino in time for her 6:30AM flight! We were all so
sorry to hear about her grandfather’s illness, and I hope all goes well. Her
mother was encouraged today by the grandfather’s alertness, so hopefully he will
continue to improve.
Cristina climbed a wall in the middle of the walk and pulled
a pomegranate from a tree. It was yummy. As Peter said, “I should have some of
this in the mornings to wake me up!” It was a little tart, and I don’t think
even coffee would wake him up better than a few of those tiny seeds!
We enjoyed seeing Zizzola, the building high up on top of a
hill that is the logo for Bra. Also, Monviso was visible in the distance, and
the view all around was spectacular!
Again, the dogs along the way made me think of Harldur and
Hugo, so I’m sending pictures of them, too. Most of them just wanted to go on
the walk with us. One of them was the one that had followed me on a walk a few
days before, but it was fenced in this time.
Buon viaggio, Kendall. We will miss you. Hope to see you at
graduation in March!
Baci,
Colleen
